Buttons disappear on the manager screen and how to fix it.

There is a bug in the Prism browser that runs the ShopKeep register where the places.sql file gets corrupted. When this happens certain javascript in the register will not work. This manifests itself in buttons not showing up and may cause other issues. For instance when this happens you would see the manager screen look like this:

To FIX do the following:

On a mac, close the ShopKeep register go to:

/Users/[your admin name]/Library/Application Support/ShopKeep/Profiles/[funny named folder]

And delete the places.sqlite file

On a PC

  1. Close the ShopKeep Register by clicking on the X on the upper right hand corner.
  2. Open Windows Explorer and by right clicking on the START MENU and then choosing Explorer.
  3. Paste the following string in the Address bar as shown below and hit enter:
    %appdata%\ShopKeep\ShopKeep Register\Profiles
  4. Next click into the only folder in this directory which will end with a ".default".
  5. Delete the places.sqlite file (you need to have the ShopKeep register closed to do this)
  6. Restart the ShopKeep register and you are good to go. The buttons are back!
