Updating Your Local Register

New updates to ShopKeep.com may require the update of your local register. This is very easy to do. Follow these instructions:

  1. Go to the computer you are using for your register.
  2. Be sure your shift is closed on that register. If not close it now.
  3. Once the shift is closed shut down the register by clicking the X on the upper right hand corner.
  4. Log into your BackOffice at [yourstore].shopkeepapp.com using firefox or other web browser.
  5. Go to the register tab and click on the Update Register button.
  6. It will ask if you want to save the file and you should choose yes. Download it to your desktop or other location where you can find it.
  7. Locate the shopkeep-register-update.exe file and double click on it to run it (it's probably in your Downloads folder).
  8. Once the update completes you must restart your computer.
  9. After your computer has rebooted you can open your shift and start using the register again.
