It is very easy to fix this problem.
1. Download this document from honeywell or find the copy that came with your scanner:
2. Print out Page 9-1 and 9-2 or open to them in your book that came with the scanner.
3. Get your scanner
4. Scan the barcode on page 9-1 labeled: Transmit UPC-E Check Digit
5. Scan the barcode on page 9-2 labeled: Transmit Lead Zero on UPC-E
6. Now try scanning your 8 digit UPC into notepad to test it out.
7. If that doesn't work call Honeywell 800-782-4263 then #4 and then #1
